DEATH OF GRANDMA DIMICK

A Pioneer Who Crossed the Plains in 1852 -- Ripe in Years

Mrs Phoebe J Dimich (nee Morris) departed this life Friday of last week in Spokane at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services were held at the M E church in Colfax Sunday afternoon, Rev John P Barker officiating, interment taking place in Colfax cemetery.

Mrs Dimick was born in Madison county, Ohio, in 1839. In 1852, with her parents, she crossed the plains to Oregon, landing at Neady, Clackamas county. She was married to M C Dimick in 1856, settling at Hubbard, Marion county, that state. Her husband died there many years ago. She came to Whitman county 21 years ago. A large family of children survive, among them being A B Dimick and R M Dimick of Spokane; D R Dimick, Canby, Oregon; B M Dimick, Woodburn, Oregon; Mrs Philip W Cox, Colfax; Mrs Arthur Cox, Miles City, Montana; Mrs H F Troub, Colfax; Mrs D S McDonald, Spokane. Two brothers, Robert Morris of Woodburn, Oregon, and J C Morris of Canby, Oregon, and a sister, Mrs Sarah Muscott of Washougal, this state, also survive. The funeral Sunday was largely attended.
