Capt. William BENNETT, (Baptist Chaplain) in Continental Army. He served in N.C. and S.C. Troops.
At the time of his death, his wife was Rachel.

He had a number of children, some of whom may have been children of an earlier wife. Children include, William BENNETT, Elizabeth BENNETT-COVINGTON, Nancy BENNETT-EASTERLING, James BENNETT, Nevil BENNETT b. abt. 1791, Joseph BENNETT b. abt. 1797, Benjamin BENNETT b. abt. 1803, and Susannah BENNETT-EDWARDS b. 1804.
