Mark Kunzman writes: Governor Walker One of the most prominent and reliable business men at Susquehanna Depot, this county, writes us a private letter to the following effect: I see that the New York papers say Gilbert C. Walker, the Governor elect of Virginia, was born in Binghamton, N.Y. That is not correct. He was born in the township of Gibson, this county, about 1834. I knew his parents well. His father's name was Sabinas Walker, and his mother's maiden name was Matilda Galloway. His parents parted, and his mother afterwards married a man named Grant.
