Mr. Elliott died 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1928, at Gainesville, the son of Oscar and Carrie Jacks Elliott.
On Aug. 30, 1947, he was married in West Virginia to Betty Lantz. On Aug. 14, 1971, he was married at West Plains to Bertha Shannon.
He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Marines.
Mr. Elliott attended First Baptist Church of West Plains.
Survivors include three children, Diane Brown, Jacksonville, Fla., Dennis Elliott, Columbus, Ohio, and Daniel Elliott, Frederick, Md.; three grandchildren, Amy Brown, Shawn Elliott, and Christopher Elliott; two brothers, Jason Elliott and wife, Velma, Dillonvale, Ohio, and Sheldon Blancato and wife, Gertrude, Valparaiso, Ind.; four sisters, Ova Conrad and husband Bill, Burgettstown, Pa., Ruth Shannon and husband, Jim, Eula Faye Hoggatt, and Barbara Longnecker and husband, Ron, all of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother and one infant sister.
The body will lie in state noon Friday until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery under direction of Robertson-Drago Funderal Home.
