Funeral service for Nettie Mae Pascoe, 88, Brownwood, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. George Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. She died Sunday in Brownwood.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Hammonds, Bill Featherstone, Bob Swayze, Merle Shisler, Mel Richey and Dean Friesen.
She was born Aug. 6, 1902, in Watonga, Okla., and was graduated from Greenville (Okla.) High School, where she was valedictorian of her nine-member class.
Mrs. Pascoe taught at a rural school and then received her bachelor of arts degree in sociology and education from Frank Phillips University in Enid, Okla.
She then worked in the Oklahoma City, Okla. public library before deciding to come to Carlsbad to sell "Books of Life." She met John Pascoe here and they were married Nov. 14, 1940, in Dexter, N.M.
Mrs. Pascoe taught 15 years at Southridge Elementary School in Carlsbad. She was the first elder emeritus of the First Christian Church.
She was the first chairman of the board of Church Women United. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Carlsbad Chapter No. 54, a past president of the Woman's Club of Carlsbad and a member of the South Eddy County Retired Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966.
Mrs. Pascoe is survived by one sister, Mary Ola Hoffman, Brownwood, Texas.
