Birth name: Anton Bannach

Anton Barnach, whose death occurred at Wrights Hospital at Fergus Falls, was born in Germany, May 12, 1862 and died at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 28 days. His father, John Barnach, came with his family to the Millerville community in 1873. The family consisted of father, mother and six children, Anna, Anton, Catherine, Anthony, Clara and Stephen.
Anton Barnach was married to Martha Gluba Feb. 13, 1883, and they made their home in this community. Mrs. Barnach was born in Poland and passed away at the age of 59 years on June 19, 1925. They are survived by a family of nine sons and one daughter. The children are Victor, Claude, Harry, John, Conrad, Cyrial, Theresa, Paul, Bennie and Stephen. Victor and Harry served in the World War and Victor has been in poor health ever since and has been at the Veterans hospital at Fort Snelling since March 16, 1932. Theresa is married and resides at Luck, Wis., Paul is staying with her. Harry resides at Luce, Minn., Claude, John and Conrad reside in the Leaf Mountain neighborhood and Bennie and Steve are on the home place. All of the children were summoned home before Mr. barnach's death. He will be deeply mourned in the neighborhood where he has so long resided. Mr. Barnach was a highly respected citizen. He was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone that was in need. He was a very loyal christian.
The funeral was held from St. Mary's church at Millerville Monday morning at 9:30, Rev. J. B. Wilkes officiating. The pallbearers were chosen from among members of St. Joseph's Society and were Nick Miller, Carl Leh, Joe Roers, John K. Klimek, John Turchin and Frank Rosenthal with John Pishke as cross bearer. Burial was in the church cemetery. Martin Benson of Fergus Falls, was funeral director.
