Edw. H. Ackles Dies Tuesday at Age 80

Edward H. Ackles aged citizen of this vicinity died at his home near Creswell, Tuesday, April 6th, following an illness of only a few days. He was 80 years of age.

Mr Ackles had been a resident of this section for 24 years, coming here from Illinois. He was born at New Haven, Illinois, October 15, 1873. he was married to Rozine Yakleyin 1894, to which union was born one daughter who preceded her father in death by four years. Mr Ackles was engaged at farming during the greater part of his life.

Surviving are his wife; four grandchildren, Charles Husband of Caldwell Kansas, Mrs Gladys Gerard of Kokomo, Indiana, Mrs Laura May and Mrs Lola Dishman of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Philip Ackles of Decatur, Ill,; four grandchildren, two nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the calico Rock Methodist Church, Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. Joe Matlock pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial was in Rose Lawn Cemetery here, under direction of the Hall Funeral Service.
