Ervin R. Hyser died Thursday afternoon at his home in Taneytown. He had been in ill health since Christmas and became seriously ill 10 days ago. The deceased was born in Carroll County, MD. A son of the late Benjamin J. and Annie Barnhardt Hyser and lived all of his life in the Taneytown area.
He was a life long member of the Evangelical United Brethren church and a member of the board of trustees. He was treasurer of the cemetery fund and also treasurer of the men's Bible Class of the church.
Hyser was thrice married. His first wife was to the former Mary Estella McGuigan and his second to the former Mamie Palmer.
Survivng are his third wife, the former Nettie Halter, 4 children by his first marriage, Paul E., Mt. Holly Springs, George F., Dallastown, Mrs. Nevin (Edith) W. Myers, Hanover, & Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Waltman, Littlestown, 16 grandchildren, 3 sisters Mrs. Franklin Valentine, Hanover, Mrs. John Harner, Littlestown, Mrs. Roland Harman, Union Bridge, MD, 3 stepchildren Mrs. Mary E. Robinson, Union Mills, Wilbur Halter, Uniontown, MD, & Luther Halter, Taneytown.
Funeral services Sunday at 2 PM at the Taneytown EUB Church conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Arthur W. Garvin. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Fuss Funeral Home, Taneytown, Saturday from 7 - 9 O'clock. The body will lie in state at the church Sunday noon until the time of the service.
