Born in Towamencin Twp.‚ she was the daughter of the late Abram W. and Mary Emma "Mamie" (Shelly) Bergey. She graduated from the former Keystone Business School of Norristown.
Her family moved to Salford Station in 1918‚ where they operated the store and post office. Violet served as postmistress until the late 1970s.
She was a longtime member of Indian Creek Church of the Brethren in Vernfield.
Her hobbies were knitting‚ crocheting and stamp collecting.
She was survived by three children‚ C. Carlton Force and his wife‚ Louise‚ of Telford‚ G. Marlene Bardman and her husband‚ Ronald‚ of Harleysville and Loretta J. Warriner and her husband‚ William "Herb"‚ of Salford; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband‚ she was preceded in death by a brother‚ LaVerne Bergey.
Her funeral was held on Saturday‚ Feb. 4, 2006. Interment was at Indian Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
