Sammy Lee Yahola passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the age of 54 years. Sammy was the son of Alex & Minnie (Lowe) Yahola, born on November 28, 1956, at Talihina, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, his home until moving to Tulsa in 2001. He was a member of the Pecan Grove Methodist Church. He loved listening to ‘Oldies' music. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex & Minnie Yahola; two brothers, Amos Yahola and William Yahola; three sisters: Celia Ann Marshall, Annie Yahola and Linda Yahola. He is survived by four brothers: Lewis Yahola of Wewoka, Ben Yahola, Raymond Yahola and Jonas Yahola, all of Tulsa; four sisters: Betty Tiger of Holdenville, Virginia Powell of Seminole, Imogene Yahola and Ella Morgan, both of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Methodist Church north of Holdenville. Sammy will be laid to rest in the Yeager Cemetery, with his nephews serving as pallbearers. Rev. Malcolm Tiger is the officiating minister. Wake service will be Monday, May 16, 7:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
