Zola M. Satterfield, 82, died at 9:30 p.m. May 12, 2011, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Morgan County, Tenn., to Torval M. and Alma M. Hodge Strand, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 55 years, William G. Satterfield, died Dec. 23, 2001.

Mrs. Satterfield was a homemaker and took care of the financial books for her husband's business. She enjoyed crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, and canning. She helped her husband with carpentry work and had many diverse talents.

Survivors include five children, Patricia Metz and Gary Satterfield, both of Harrod, Dale Satterfield and Avery Satterfield, both of Kingston, Tenn., and Rebecca Holt, of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Darrell (Mona) Strand, of Deer Lodge, Tenn.; a sister, Wilma (Harold Anderson) Feleo, of Dayton; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Bridgeman Satterfield; two brothers, Menford "Bud" and Chester Strand; and a sister, Loretta Hawkins.

Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Eastside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery
