Salome (went by Salomy) Schauss (later became Shouse) was the youngest of eleven known children of Phillip Nicholas Schauss (1728-1810) and Maria Catherine Beck (1734-1796), who married 09 Jul 1748 at Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.

Salomy married Hermanus (Harmon) Mueller/Miller Jr. (1777-1823(?)) on 10 Sep 1798 at Bethania, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Hermanus was a constant drunk, and Salomy petitioned to divorce him in c1817, but the State Legislature, which at the time, needed to approve divorces did not grant it.

Late in life Salomy moved to Bartholomew County, Indiana with her son Charles B. Miller (1809-1895). After Salomy died, her remains were turned to Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina (very unusual for those times) for burial at her son John Miller's plot at the Salem Cemetery.

Some records record Salomy's surname as Mueller, but the grave marker clearly shows Miller.

Salomy and Hermanus were the parents of eleven known children, namely:

1. un-named daughter Miller (1800-1800)
2. John Sylvester Miller (1801-1878)
3. Heinrich (Henry) Miller (1803-1863)
4. baby boy Miller (1805-1805) (triplet)
5. baby boy Miller (1805-1805) (triplet)
6. baby boy Miller (1805-1805) (triplet)
7. Mary Miller (1805-1816)
8. Harmon Harrison Miller (1807-1861)
9. Charles B. Miller (1809-1895)
10. Charity Miller (1811-1839)
11. Sarah (Sally) Miller Nading (1814-1892)

Does anyone have any evidence for the 1st, and 4th to 6th children?

Links to Salomy's parents, her husband, four of her eleven known children and four of her 10 known siblings are included below.
