WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mr. Harvey Carl Rogers, 72, Rt. 2, Asbury Community, died Saturday evening at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy.
He was born in Stokes County to W.A. and Mattie Nunn Rogers.
He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Asbury Presbyterian Church.
Surviving is his wife, Clara George Rogers, of the home; three daughters: Mrs. Osley (Vernice) Johnson, Rt. 2, Mount Airy, Mrs. Don (Linda) Teague, Thomasville and Mrs. James P. (Bonnie) Jessup, Rt. 2, Pilot Mountain; three sons: Johnny Rogers, Lawsonville, Ronnie Rogers, Pilot Mountain and Rickey Rogers, Rt. 2, Westfield; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters: Mrs. Nellie Martin, Rt. 2, Westfield and Mrs. Stella Beasley, Claudville, Va.; and three brothers: Raymond Tom Rogers, Rt. 1, Mount Airy, Dewey Rogers and William Junior Rogers, both of Rt. 2, Westfield.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Asbury Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Allen Morrison, the Rev. Joe Cook and the Rev. Timothy Elliott. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
