Alexandria, LA, Feb 12 1940:
Mrs Maggie Nora Horton, 70, mother of H.M. Horton of West Monroe, died yesterday morning at 3:30 o'clock at her home in Pineville.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Gibsland cemetery with Rev Smith, pastor of the Gibsland Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Gibsland cemetery under the direction of Dixie Funeral Home of Monroe.
Mrs Horton is survived by her husband, L. E. Horton of Pineville; three sons, H. M. Horton of West Monroe, A. Horton of Pineville, and H.E. Horton of Abilene, Tex.; two brothers, John Heath of Magnolia, Ark.; and Mosley Heath of Texas; and two sisters, Mrs Ella Joiner of Magnolia, Ark., and Mrs. Etta Baskin of McNeal, Ark.
