In Loving Memory Of Haley

First daughter, and third child born to William Calvin Grissett Sr and Katherine Mahala Strickland Grissett.

Mahala's first husband was an Allen. One child was born to this union, Ella Allen in 1874. Mahala married the 2nd time October 10, 1882, in Ackerman, MS to F.B. McClellan.

Ella married John McAteer Hall, my great grandfather November 16, 1893 in Greenwood, Leflore Co., MS. Haley's only child died due to complications of childbirth. Haley, her mother, Katherine Grissett and other Grissett Family members helped raise John McAteer and Ella's son, John Crawford Hall,that was born February 11, 1896, my grandfather.

Haley lived with her only grandson and his wife Lizzie. She wore thick glasses and was considered blind. Haley was known to love to play with all the kids and ride them on her knee. Haley taught my mother how to cook when my mother had to stand in chair to reach the stove.
