Brother of Mary E.

His mother died (aft 1850 census) & his father, John, remarried. Then his father left to visit family in TN was never heard from again. Then his step-mother also died, leaving John & Mary orphans. John was taken in by Ed Jenkins who taught him to drive a team & wagon. They went to ports on the coast & brought back supplies.
