The heavenly angels came down on May 11, 2011, to bring Delbert Chester Kistner, age 75, truckin' home. He passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Sacred Heart Hospital with his children by his side.

Del was born on February 21, 1936, to Chet and Thelma Kistner in Downsville, WI. Del's passions were hunting, fishing, gardening and anything to do with nature. For 43 years Del worked for Fehr Concrete (which then became County Concrete) doing what he loved best - getting in the big rigs and truckin' on down the road. Del's care and love was taking care of his Little Sweetie, kids, and family. There wasn't a person that knew Del that didn't come away laughing. He was a wonderful Dad (the best Dad) and a friend to all he knew.

On February 23, 1980, Delbert became a loving husband to Margaret at the Ecumenical Center at UWEC. Through their love a son, Delbert J. Kistner, was born and he joined a family of five girls which consisted of, Sherry L. (Gary) Bentley of Eau Claire, Debra J. (Scott) Stewart Brenham, TX, Shelley A. Bradford of New Auburn, WI, Jody K. Johnson of Brenham, TX, and Richelle L. Shill of Eau Claire.

Del is also survived by his grandchildren, Kiersten Kistner and Keegan and Elise Moore-Kistner, Dustin Kistner, Jason, Terry, and Scott Bentley, Lauren and Preston Stewart, Skyler and Kaylin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Blake and Arianna Bentley; and mother, Thelma L. Kistner.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret I. Kistner (mother of Richelle and Delbert "D.J.") and Corinne C. Kerns (mother of Sherry, Debbie, Shelley, and Jody); and his dad, Chet Kistner.

The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011, at Truax Congregational Church of Christ (1008 50th Street, Eau Claire) with Pastor Dave Stratton officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Evergreen Funeral Home (on Golf Road one block east of Hwy 93) and also one hour prior to the service at church. Delbert will be laid to rest in the Kistner family plot at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
