Mr. James Robert "Jim" Owen, 73, of Noel, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home.

Jim was born on December 20, 1936 in Arkansas City, Kansas, the only child born to the union of the late Robert L. and Opal (Utsler) Owen. His formative years were spent in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He made his home in the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Nevada before moving to Noel, Missouri in 1964. Throughout his life he worked as a meat cutter. For the last nineteen years he was employed in the meat department at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Local Meat Cutters Union in Las Vegas, Nevada, attended worship services at Our Father House in Joplin, Missouri and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores Owen on July 26, 2006; and a daughter, Janie Lynn Owen.

Jim is survived by his four sons, Jason Owen of Noel, Missouri, Ken White and wife, Kerrie, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Larry White and wife, Tani, of Maumelle, Arkansas and Robbie Owen and wife, Kathy, of Bentonville, Arkansas; and five grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. James Robert "Jim" Owen are 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Bentonville City Cemetery in Bentonville, Arkansas with Pastor John Holdman officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
