Benjamin created a generous deed of trust shortly before the Great Depression. In it he gave his relationship not only to his son and grand-daughter, but to his sisters, nieces, and nephews. The instrument is a wealth of genealogical material.

Search of the Cincinnati Pub Lib newspaper index discloses an obit. 6/07/1930 entitled: "Body brought home; octogenarian steel executive to be buried here." In the 1890-1 Cincinnati Directory he is listed as Pres of the Addyston Pipe and Steel Co.

He was dropped from Quaker membership 8-8-1886.

In the 1900 census he is listed with wife Elizabeth b July 1858 in Ohio, and son Richard b Feb 1886, creating a one year discrephancy in Richard's birth year (HAUGHTON BENJAMIN 45 M W OH IL COOK 1-WD EVANSTON 1900; Series: T623 Roll: 292 Page: 26). Elizabeth's father was noted as born in Ireland and her mother as born in Pennsylvania, linking her to Richard and Elenor Kerfoot found in the 1870 census.

In 1910 Benjamin F Haughton 59 b OH and his wife Elizabeth 51 b OH with 1 of 2 children noted as living, are in New Rochelle, NY where he was a "member of firm" "pipe factory" (1910; Census Place: New Rochelle Ward 3, Westchester, New York; Roll: T624_1091; Page: 8B; Enumeration District: 0088; FHL microfilm: 1375104).


In 1927 on the SS Caledonia sailing from Londonderry on July 2nd and arriving in New York on July 10, Benjamin b 31 Mar 1850 travelled with Sara Haughton b 19 Aug 1858 and Agnes Bell b 25 Mar 1861, all born in Cincinati, Ohio with Benjamin and Sara living in Beverly, NJ and Agnes at 3754 Clifton Ave, Cincinati, OH (Ancestry.com: New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957; 1927; Arrival: New York, New York; Microfilm Serial: T715; Microfilm Roll: 4088; Line: 3; Page Number: 6.).

In the May 6, 1930 census, Benjamin F Haughton 80 and wid, b OH, is living in New Jersey and his sister Sara M 71 was living with him (1930; Census Place: Edgewater Park, Burlington, New Jersey; Roll: 1318; Page: 11B; Enumeration District: 0032; Image: 362.0; FHL microfilm: 2341053).
