Services are pending with Denton Funeral Home for Essie Irene Gentry, 85, 1902 Jefferson. She died today in a local hospital.
Born March 7, 1901, in Gadsden, Ala., she lived in Dell City, Texas, for a few years, but lived most of her adult life in Carlsbad. She was a member of the Cavern Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four sons, John Arthur Gentry, Carlsbad, and Alvin, Paul and Lynn Gentry, all of Dell City, Texas; five daughters, Cora McCauley, Vergie Brewer, and Mary Lou Lee, all of Carlsbad, Alice Shelton, Artesia, and Nadine Baker, Zapata, Texas; one brother, Dudley Bayles, Kingman, Ariz.; one sister Earlina Carr, Kingman; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
GENTRY
Services for Essie Irene Gentry, 85, 1502 Jefferson St., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Cavern Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Huber of the Cavern Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
She died July 18, 1986, in a local hospital. She was born on March 7, 1901.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Barker, Johnny Gentry, Gerald Gentry, Gary Shelton, Randy Shelton and Melvin Gentry.
Denton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
