Margarette Marie White Hill was born on August 14 1913 to the late John Robert White Sr. and Mary Etta Pressley White. She met Clarence Wakefield Hill Sr. while working at the candy counter at Kress Department Store and they were married ten days before her fifteenth birthday.
Margareet was a devoted, faithful wife and hard-worker. She worked along-side C.W. in their business, C. W. HILL PRINTING COMPANY, not only doing the secretarial work and bookkeeping, but also running the printing press. Living through the Depression, she knew what hard work was and did not shirk from it.
C. W. and Margarette were inseparable. They were together almost seventy-four years. (C. W. passed away April 22, 2002.) When C.W. was counting the offering, Margarette would be sitting in the hall waiting for him. They worshipped together; they worked together; they shopped together. When you saw one, you saw the other.
Margarette was a loving mother to their four children. She always made sure the whole family was in church and desired for her children to come to know Him and love Him as well.
Margarette was like a second mother to many, especially to her sixteen grandchildren. Over the years many children knew and loved her as she kept the Midwood Sunday School Primary Department records and served cookies and Kool-aid during Vacation Bible School.
Margarette Hill will be remembered and missed by many. In addition to her four children, their spouses, and sixteen grandchildren, she had thirty-four great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
We are all comforted by the fact that she is once again in the arms of her beloved husband and at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
