BALLARD
Harry Allen Ballard, son of George and Esther Abrahamson Ballard, was born August 19, 1897, on a farm near Williamson, Iowa. He passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Tuesday, April 10, 1973, at his home in Chariton.
On October 29, 1924, he was united in marriage to Mildred Carlson. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Dwight (Ruth) Stephens; Mrs. Raymond (Gladys) Pierschbacher; Mrs. Marie Runnells, all of Chariton and a son, John Allen Ballard, of Washburn.
Born and raised on a farm, he remained a farmer until moving to Chariton in 1951, when he was then employed by the D. W. Tree Company until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his widow; four children; three sisters; two brothers; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. James Robertson at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 1973, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
