Julia is the daughter of Frank High Boone and Nancy Mahala Taylor. She married Homer T. Baker, son of Eddie Richard Baker and Mary Etta Bone.

SANDY CROSS -- Julie Bloomer Boone Baker, 84, passed away June 23, 2008, after an extended illness. She was born in Nash County on Dec. 23, 1923, to the late Frank High and Mahala Taylor Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer T. Baker, in 1993. Bloomer was a life-long member of Sandy Cross United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Wanda B. Joyner, and husband, Steve, of Sandy Cross; sons, Eddie High Baker and wife, Tammy, of Tampa, Fla., Jamie K. Baker of Sandy Cross, and Randall Baker and wife, Linda, also of Sandy Cross; sister, Murdie Murray, of Elm City; brother, James W. Boone, also of Elm City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Boone Family Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Reavis and the Rev. Judson Dunlap officiating. The family will receive friends today, June 25, 2008, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Jamie K. Baker.
