BODY BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL
Funeral Services for Mrs. Annie Baird Held In the Presbyterian Church Friday, May 26, 1939.

Mary Ann Baird, daughter of John and Phoebe Bailey, was born near Nauvoo, Hancock county, Illinois, on March 6, 1867, and departed this life at Maywood, Illinois, May 23, 1939, being at the time of her passing aged 72 years, 2 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage on February 25, 1891, to Henry Baird and to this union were born five children, three of whom survive her. They are: Margaret Amodt, of Camden, New Jersey; John Walter Baird, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Jeanette Bacon, of Maywood, Illinois. Two children, Phoebe and Willard, preceded her in death. Her husband passed away in 1925.
She is also survived by three brothers, as follows: L. D. Bailey, of LaBelle, Missouri; Frank M., of Joplin, Missouri; and W. H., of LaBelle, Missouri ; four grandchildren; Robert, Jean and Lee Baird, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Marylin Bacon, of Maywood, Illinois, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Baird spent most of her married life in Warsaw, Illinois, where she was a member of the Congregational church. She also lived some years in LaBelle, during the earlier period of her life. In the several communities in which she lived Mrs. Baird formed many friendships, and her death is mourned by a host of associates, who cherish her memory in tenderness.
During her time on earth Mrs. Baird lived a life characterized by devotion to Christ and all that is best in life. As a Christian wife and mother, she will be remembered by her family and associates as one whose character was an influence for good and a source of high inspiration. For many years her home each morning was the scene of family worship, where those whom she held most dear were taught the lessons of love and loyalty to Christ. She served her church loyally and her friends with great faithfulness; and in passing she leaves behind her a host of loved ones, who are comforted by the thought of her trust in Christ, the giver of life eternal.
Funeral services were held at the LaBelle Presbyterian church Friday morning, May 26, conducted by Rev. H. R. White, after which the body was laid to rest in LaBelle cemetery.
Out of town relatives, who attended the funeral were: J. Walter Baird and wife, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Bacon and little daughter, Marylin, of Maywood, Illinois; Frank Bailey and son, John, of Joplin, Missouri, and Mrs. George M. Beal and two children, Billy and Marian Ruth, of Edina.
