Arden W. Rogers, 86, of Lakeside-Marblehead, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Sept. 11, 1924 in Upper Sandusky, the son of John T. and Cora P. (Bupp) Rogers.
He married Eva "Jean" Platt March 7, 1946 and she preceded him in death, June 9, 2008.
He retired from New Departure where he was an engineer. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II where he was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Lakeside, and Upper Sandusky Council 98 R.S.M. He was previously a member of the Marblehead Volunteer Fire Department and a ham radio operator. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and model trains.
Surviving are his son, Bob (Julia) Rogers of Louisville, Ky.; daughter, Pauline Boyd of Marblehead; grandchildren, Meredith Eva Rogers, Stephanie (John) Donahue and Jessica Boyd; great-grandchildren, Michael Donahue and Lucas Donahue.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his brother, Russell Rogers.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead. where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Kay Cox officiating.
Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Church of Christ or Stein Hospice.
