Mrs. Emma Banks, daughter of Charles and Emma Holmes, was born November 24, 1872, and died December 22, 1950.
In 1888 she was united in marriage to Thomas Banks, who preceded her in death of August 5, 1919.
They were the parents of eight children, three of whom died in infancy.
Surviving are five children, Harry of Plainfield, Clarence of Wisconsin Rapids, Melvin of Coloma, Leona Bergstrom of Racine, and Viola Shafer of Plainfield, four stepchildren, William Banks, Hancock, George Banks, St. Paul, Minn., Dora Bartow of North Freedom, and Lucy Selsing of Coloma, three brothers Delbert and Roy Holmes, Hancock and Charles Holmes, Pardeeville; and one sister, Mary Swenson, Doylestown. A brother and sister preceded her in death.
There are 31 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
