Mrs. Petitt was a native of Carter County and had lived in Philadelphia, Pa., for 39 years. She returned to East Tennessee in 1970 to make her home. She was a daughter of the late George W. Sr. and Lucy Victoria Humphreys Fair and was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Coleman Petitt, in 1983, five brothers, Ora, Robert T., Chase, Estell and George W. Fair Jr., and a sister, Grace Hopson February.
Mrs. Petitt was a retired insurance clerk at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., with 27 years of service, and a member of Watauga Point United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Beatrice Hagy, Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Mayro Conner, Yakima, Wash. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Boone Street, Johnson City, who died Sunday, February 13, 2000, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, in the Chapel Mausoleum at Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City, with Rev. Mack Turner officiating. Music will be by Jerry L. Barnett, soloist. Entombment will follow in the chapel mausoleum.
