Florence Oleen Evans, 85, of Winchester, VA, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her home under the care of Blue Ridge Hospice.
Mrs. Evans was born on May 27, 1925 in Bryson City, NC, a daughter of the late Major Higdon and Margaret McClure Evans. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hayfield Assembly of God in Hayfield, VA.
Mrs. Evans was married to Clarence E. Evans. Mr. Evans died on October 22, 1991.
Surviving are three sons: James E. Evans of Charlotte, NC; Ricky J. Evans of Clover, SC; Michael A. Evans of Stephens City, VA; three daughters: Joan Kerns of Cross Junction, VA; Shirley Mongold of Winchester, VA; Patricia "Patty" Hinkle of Stephen City, VA; one brother: Harold Evans of Hedgesville, WV; two sisters: Flonnie Verzick of Hedgesville, WV; Carol Harden of Winchester, VA; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Shenandoah Memorial Park Chapel in Winchester, VA on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Don Stotler and Pastor Kenneth Jenkins. Entombment will be in the Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, WV on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6-8 PM.
