Marion married Edward Appelt on October 16, 1957 in Harvey, Wells County, North Dakota. This occurred after Edward Appelt's first wife, Anna died and after, Marion's mother, Minnie Belle died. Prior to Edward marrying Anna Buechle, he had went with Marion and proposed to her. She refused the proposal as her mother did not want her to marry Ed as she was concerned that there would be no one to care for her.
Marion was a school teacher for 33 years.
Besides being survived by three step children and many step grandchildren; she is survived by four great half nephews: James Dale Rawson of Middleton, Wisconsin, David Lee Rawson of Neillsville, Wisconsin, Timothy Aaron Rawson of Pigeon Falls, Wisconsin and John Allen Rawson of Blair, Wisconsin - all children of Harry Edward (1922-1998) and Irma Sylvia (Ristau) Rawson (1923-1994) and grandchildren of James Henry (1888-1926) and Edith (Howard) Rawson.
