On Tuesday, May 1, 1945, at his home near Charlotte, Michigan, Charles J. Williams died of a heart attack. He was born March 26, 1870, near St. Joseph, Illinois, the son of William H. and Mary A. Williams. On December 25, 1892 he was united in marriage to Carrie Ann Corray. In 1893 they moved to Iowa to make their home; several years later returned to Illinois, locating at Rantoul where he engaged in the hardware business. The last twenty-six years have been spent in Michigan, coming to Charlotte in 1939. He was a birthright member of the Friends church.

One brother, Thompson, preceded him in death. Left to mourn are his wife, and two daughters, Blanch Williams, Chicago, Ill.; Mary Morrison, Charlotte, Mich.; five brothers, Zeno, Darlington, Indiana.; John, Oberlin, Kansas.; Edward, St. Johns, Mich.; Orchis, Westfield, Indiana.; Walter, Rockville, Indiana., and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Haworth, Casey, Ill.; Mrs. Lizzie Meese, St. Joseph, Ill.


Funeral services were held in the Burkhead chapel, Charlotte, Michigan, conducted by Rev. Beckett. Burial at Maple Hill.
