Paul E. Burkitt, 99, of Atlanta GA, passed away on April 15, 2011. He was born on Nov. 8, 1911 to the late Henry Burkitt and Julia Mae Coulter. An active member of Peachtree Christian Church, he served as deacon and pianist for the partners class. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nora Kennedy Burkitt, whom he shared nearly 60 fun, loving years of marriage with, his brothers, Calvin and Carroll Burkitt, sister, Mabel Owens, son, Ronald Burkitt, and grandchild, Alan Harris. Survived by his loving children, Pauline Burkitt and David Burkitt, grandchildren, Sandra, Ted and Kenneth Harris, Gail Meadows, Chelsey and Hanson Burkitt, great grandchildren, Mark Snodgrass, Natalie Harris, James, Chase and Spencer Meadows. The family will receive friends on Wed. April 20 at Peachtree Christian Church, 1580 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta GA 30309, 9-11 am, with service to follow with Dr. Barry McCarty officiating. Interment will follow at 2 pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 2284 Candler Rd, Decatur GA 30032. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Peachtree Christian Church, designated to the childrens ministry.
