Asa Woodruff, son of Mr & Mrs John Woodruff was born at New Canton, Il July 23, 1857 and moved with his parents to MO in 1874 and in 1878 the family located near Spring Hill, Johnson Co Ks
Feb 3, 1881 we was united in marriage to Sarah J Brown and to this union was born four children. Nellie Agness, who died at the age of 5 years, Ida Lillian Scottie Nutt, Willie Ray Woodruff and Bitha Kate Barnes.
In 1902 the deceased with his family moved to Waverly where he lived until the time of his death on Saturday Dec 12, 1925 at the age of 68 years 4 months and 19 days after a year of illness
Mr Woodruff was a farmer and always has been a hard working man. He was kind, dutiful husband and father and an oblidging and considerate neighbor and friend. He was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.
Besides his wife and children he is survived by eight grandchildren and six living brothers, David, Charley, John, Scott, George, Henry two sisters Mrs Jennie Marshal and Mrs Nettie Chapin one brother and three sister preceded him in death
