Mr. Ballou was born Feb. 28, 1948, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Ill., the son of Robert Donald Ballou and wife Ebba Sonja, nee Anderson.
His father was remarried to Laura, who took care of him from a young age.
He was united in marriage to Linda Katherine Sorokwasz June 21, 1969, at Cedar Grove Methodist Church, Robertsville.
Mr. Ballou was employed as a high school guidance counselor for many years. He was working for the Kingston K-14 School District in Cadet, before he died.
He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Union, where he served as deacon.
Mr. Ballou was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Linda Katherine Ballou, Union; one son, Aaron Walter Ballou and wife Melissa, Union; one daughter, Johanna Fay Ballou, St. Louis; two grandchildren, Briseyda and Raven Ballou; his mother, Laura Ballou, Columbia, one sister, Cathryn Dawn Ballou, Laytonsville, Md.; one brother, John Richard Ballou, California state; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 17, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Union.
Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Robertsville.
