Death Claims Ruby Thomas

Ruby Laughton Thomas, native Renoite and lifetime area resident, succumbed Friday to a prolonged illness at a local nursing home. She was 82 years old, born Nov. 19, 1881.

Her parents were Sumner and Nancy Laughton, founders and former owners of Lawton's Hot Springs. She attended elementary and high school in Reno and graduated from the University of Nevada. Her husband, Henry L. Thomas, preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1941.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by a sister, Pearl Marrett of Santa Cruz, Calif., and a cousin, Bernice Dangberg of Woodfords, Calif. There are also several nieces and nephews.

Friends may attend the funeral Tuesday, 2 p.m., at the Sierra Chapel, Walton Funeral Home. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Burial will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery.
