Born Jan. 26, 1878, in Hopkinton, he retired as a railroad mail clerk in 1940 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church. His wife was the former Mary Hogan.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fred Condon, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Robert P. Hayes, Prior Lake, MN; four sons, Roland, Harold and Paul Cramer, all of Cedar Rapids, and Gilbert Cramer, Seattle; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Concelebrated mass at 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception church by the Rev. Douglas Cramer, grandson of Mr. Cramer; the Rev. Roger E. O'Brien and the Rev. J. David Pepper. Parish rosary, National Society of Foresters, St. Rita's Circle at Brady mortuary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and Knights of Columbus at 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Mt. Calvary. Friends may call at the mortuary after 11 a.m. Thursday.
