Eugene L. Cain, 73, Brainerd, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Woodhaven Nursing Home in Brainerd.
He was born June 18, 1929, in Riverton to Sumner and Adelia (Heyer) Cain. He graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd in 1948. He entered the Army and served with the 82nd Airborne. He married Patricia Mehaffey on March 8, 1951, in Los Angeles. He worked as a carpenter for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Brainerd; a daughter, Melinda Kessel, Brainerd; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
His parents, two sisters and a brother died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd with military rites by American Legion Post 255 in Brainerd.
