A resident of Peoria for over 40 years, he had been employed for years by the Meyer Furnace Co. He was a boiler maker by trade. Born at Lacon, Ill., February 4, 1866, he was a son of George and Sarah [Shurtz] Auth. He married Miss Minnie May McLaughlin April 22, 1895.
Surviving are six children, Robert Auth of Long Beach, Cal.; George W. and Arthur L. Auth of Peoria; Mrs. Vera Hartman, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Clara Hemmele and Mrs. Loretta Weber, Peoria; 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Frank Green of Mt. Rose, Cal. and Fred Green, Earlville, Ill.; and a sister, Miss Jessie Green, Speer, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock at the Sparland Baptist church with interment in Lacon cemetery.
