Louis Wade Bower, 68, of Decatur died 9 a.m. Monday (Dec. 24, 1990)
in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Graveside family services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Brintlinger’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Bower was born in Decatur, son of Louis and Mattie W. Lykins Bower. He was
a member of Stephen Decatur Lodge 979 A.F. & A.M., Macon Chapter 21 R.A.M.,
Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of
Springfield. He was also a member of Zohak Grotto, American Legion Post 105
and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a World War II veteran and a veteran
of the Korean War. He was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone Co. until his
retirement in 1978. He married Doris Maxine Wells in Sept. 1946.
Surviving are wife; daughter, Mrs. James (Cinda) Farris of Decatur;
granddaughters, Dawn Michelle and husband Michael Turner of Decatur; Rebecca
Wade Ferris of Decatur; brothers, Thomas Carl of Longwood, Fla.; Lowell
Franklin of Lake Worth, Fla.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
