Born July 8, 1S92, in Utica, son of Jacob and Mary Gutheinz Hoffman, for 32 years he was toolroom foreman at the American Emblem Company.
On June 17, 1914, in St. Joseph's Church, he married Josephine Rappe who died December 1952. In 1928 he moved to Waterville where he lived until returning to Utica in 1946.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Helen Josephine Hoffman, Utica; three sons, Francis G. Hoffman, Clinton; George C. and Elmer V. Hoffman, both of Utica; two sisters, Mrs. Keren McDevit, Utica and Mrs. Louise Cole, Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
