Belva Lorene McHone, 90, of Ankeny, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Belva was born August 15, 1926, in Ankeny, the daughter of Dan and Wilda (Law) Conkel. She graduated from White Oak School in 1943 and was united in marriage to Harold McHone on January 19, 1945, at the White Oak Church.

Belva was a member of the White Oak Church and worked for the DOT. She enjoyed playing the organ, Wii bowling and baking for her family. Above all, Belva loved spoiling her grandchildren.

Belva is survived by her sons: Ronald (Irene) McHone of Cambridge, Roger (Diane) McHone of Fairfield and Steven (Debbie) McHone of New Brighton, MN; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Belva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grand-daughter, Kimberly; and two sisters: Lavonne Brown and Marge McCauley.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 3 at White Oak Church near Elkhart (14747 White Oak Drive) with burial following at White Oak Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to White Oak Church in memory of Belva.
