Mr. Olden Morris Brackett age 69, of Laurel Ridge Rd., Blairsville, formerly of Decatur, GA passed away on Sunday June 9, 2002 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Brackett was born on June 23, 1932 in Monroe, GA. The son of the late Clarence M. Brackett and the late Clemmie O. Scott Brackett. Mr. Brackett was retired from the MARTA Transit System of Atlanta. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of the Korean War. He was a member and past master of the Pantersville Masonic Lodge #543 F&AM. Mr. Brackett was a member of the Coosa United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Brackett are his loving wife of forty nine years, Shirley Summerour Brackett of Blairsville, one son, Glenn Brackett of Blairsville, three daughters and two son-in-laws, Sharon Bethany Daystar of Van Nuys, GA, Rhonda and Tommy Dial of Temple, GA, Susan and Roger Marty of Aragon, GA, two sisters, Evelyn Mauldin and Helen Landeress both of Lawrenceville, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday June 13, 2002 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jon Herrin officiating. Special music was presented by the Kelly Trio. Serving as pall bearers were members of the Alleghany Lodge. Conducting the graveside services were the Alleghany Lodge #114 FYAM and the North GA Honor Guard. Interment followed in the Coosa Methodist Cemetery.
