CHARLES GWIN BURNUM, 68, retired mechanical engineer.

Graveside services for Charles Gwin Burnum, 68, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Stephenson officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Burnum died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Decatur General Hospital.

He was born August 15, 1929, in Marshall County to Thomas and Lena Burnum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was an engineer officer, a retiree from Wolverine Tube where he served as a mechanical engineer for 37 years and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and Toastmasters International for which he served as area governor.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Holley Burnum; three sons, James R. Burnum of Merritt Island, Fla, Thomas M. Burnum of Alabaster and John E. Burnum of Cullman; one daughter, Lisa Coffey of Overland Park, Kansas; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gus Burnum, Paul Rowe III, Paul Rowe IV, Rob Slater, Jack Young and Clinton Frost.
