Nila F Wenger, 92, formerly of 28934 CR 28 West, Elkhart, IN died Wednesday, Dec 7, 1994 at 4:07 am at the Community Hospital of Bremen. Death was caused by complications following a stroke. She had been ill since 1988.
She was born August 6, 1902 in Bluffton, Indiana the daughter of Jacob Oswalt and Irene (Schrock) Oswalt.
On Nov 4, 1922 she married Oscar H “Kossie” Wenger in St Joseph Co.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs Keith (Beadie) Weade of Bremen; Mrs Dr Cecil (Bunnie) Burket of Bremen, Mrs Judi K Shoemaker of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 24, 1985; one great granddaughter; one son, Richard D Wenger; and two brothers, Vance Rhea and Dwight "Buck" Oswalt.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec 10, 1994 at 10:30 am at the Jamestown United Methodist Church. Rev Bill Rapp of Jamestown United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was at Olive (East) Cemetery, Elkhart, County. Reith- Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart in Wakarusa were in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown United Methodist Church of which she was a member.
