Mrs. Rebecca Degan
Tipton (Staff) Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Church of Christ here for Mrs. Rebecca Degan, 76, who died at her home Wednesday afternoon after an illness of three months. Rev. Layton Plasler, assisted by Rev. Dan Green, Manitou, will officiate, and burial will be in the Tipton cemetery under the direction of Pecinosky funeral home.
Bearers will be Sid Tompkins, Hulelt Hooton, Harvey Chance, Ted Cody, Cecil Campbell and Frank Huff. Honorary bearers will be Earl Todd, Lee Owens, J.W. McCullough, G.W. Gaines, O.M. Easterwood, J.T. Eledge, W.D. McDaniel, Seth Floyd, Walter Lemmons and Sam Jackson.
Mrs. Degan was born June 29, 1880, at Alton, Mo. She was married at Alton in March 1899, to L.E. Degan. They came to Oklahoma in 1907, later moved to Red River county, Tex., and returned to Tipton in 1929. Mrs. Degan was a member of the Church of Christ.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Arnold, Manitou; three sons, F.L. Degan, Herman Degan and Sherman Degan, all of Tipton; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Crowley, Tipton; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
