Mabel B. Dever, 96, of Route 2, French Creek, the Frenchton Community, passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, in Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon.

She was born July 6, 1912, at Cleveland.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Lela Berry Wilson; her husband, Gilbert Boyce Dever in February 1987; a son, Earnest; a daughter, Lorraine; and two sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are seven children, Orville Harold Dever and Marlene, his wife, of Little Sand Run, Carl Ross Dever and Dean, his wife, of Goldsboro, N.C., Elsie M. Berline and Roland, her husband, of Moon Township, Pa., John G. Dever and Gainer, his wife, of Shannon, N.C., Linda Sue Bergfield and Leonard, her husband, of Route 1, French Creek, Jean Kellin of Grenada, Miss., and Dana Dever and Gale, his wife, of Mt. Crawford, Va,; and 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dever was a homemaker and a member of the Frenchton United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Lowther and Pastor Burl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow in the Life Cemetery in Cleveland. Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements for Mabel B. Dever.
