12th child of David Lee and Elizabeth Orr Cooper. Came to Missouri at the age of 10. Married Angelina McCray when he was 47 years of age. Two children from this union:Jennie Lee Cooper and Stonewall Cooper.
During the civil war, Daniel served honorably at the Battle of Wilson Creek with General Price till the close of the struggle.
