Mrs. Dora L. Shafer of 631 Sixth Street, Huntingdon died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital last evening, Monday, December 2, 1963, at 8:10 o'clock. She had been in failing health for the past three weeks and had been a patient at the hospital since November 22. The deceased was born on December 15, 1874 in Hares Valley, near Saltillo, the daughter of Asher and Susan (Heffner) Drake. She married Willliam H. Shafer on June 14, 1900 at her home near Saltillo in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Mr. Shaffer. Her husband preceded her in death on March 8, 1954. Surviving are four sons, William B. Bruce C., Donald C. and Frederick G., all of Huntingdon. Also surviving are six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John (Roxie) Figurel, Detroit, Mich. A son and three brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Shafer was a member of the Abbey Church of the United Church of Christ, Huntingdon, and was a member of the Woment's Guild of that church. Throughout her life, she had been extremely active in church affairs. She had spent her entire married life in Huntingdon. Interment will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Huntingdon.
