Death of Mrs. ELiza Sherer
The death of Mrs. Eliza Sherer occurred Thursday. She seemed in good health but after eating breakfast she felt badly. Her son, Asa, assisted her to bed and called her sister, Mrs. Byron Badger who responded immediately but she died shortly thereafter of heart disease.
Mrs Sherer was a home-loving woman, devoted to her children.
She was born Feb 23, 1857, a daughter of Mr & Mrs Asa Darwin Hamlin, who resided in the old Hamlin homestead. She was married in Olean, Dec 14, 1874 to Christian Sherer, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Sons, Clarence, Asa and Fred and daughter Elsie, survive. Survivors also include sisters Mrs. Flora Backus, Mrs. Byron Badger and Mrs. S. C. Townsend.
Interment in Rose Hill.
