Wanda Francene Birch Taylor, 91, of St. Anthony, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the Homestead in Rexburg, with all of her children at her side.

She was born June 14, 1919, in St. Anthony, Idaho, the daughter of Charles Francis and Theo Rosenlof Birch. She lived most of her life in St. Anthony. They moved to Long Beach when she was in sixth grade. She loved Long Beach and was sad to move back to Idaho only one year later, where she lived until her senior year, when she attended West High in Salt Lake City.

On Oct. 26, 1937, she married her sweetheart, James E. Taylor in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They built and raised their family in a home in St. Anthony, where they lived until he passed away in 2003. She continued to live there until she moved into the Homestead in Rexburg in 2009.

Wanda lived a busy, active life, raising five children, and always active in church and community affairs. She was especially gifted in homemaking arts, she served as Ward and Stake Homemaking leader for many years. She was President of Women's Club and active in Soroptimist, and DUP.

She enjoyed working for Blocks in St. Anthony for many years. She retired from working for the Forest Service and visitor center in St. Anthony at age 86.

She was a beautiful seamstress, sewing wedding gowns for many young brides and cheerleader costumes for South Fremont High. Her daughters were especially blessed by her gift of sewing.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; her sister, Margaret Ahlander; and her husband.

She is survived by daughters, Francine (Val) Dietrich of Rexburg, Nanette (Mike) Neuberger of Salt Lake City, Camille (Erik, deceased) Engberson of Rexburg; sons, Jeff (Brenda) Taylor of Idaho Falls and Rod Taylor of St. Anthony; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Monday, May 9, at the St. Anthony Stake Center, 247 E. Fourth North, with Bishop Del Ray Davenport officiating; a viewing will be held one hour prior. Burial will be in Wilford Cemetery. Services are under the direction of grandson, Troy Dietrich, with Hawker Funeral Home.

The family would like to especially thank the Angels at the Homestead in Rexburg, for their loving care of our mother and the care given by Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
