A native of Berkeley, S. C., he had lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He retired as a carpenter with Glenn Self Builders. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, West Asheville Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star Chapter 291.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Wright Rudd; and four sisters, Norine McKinney and Doris Groom, both of Greenville, S.C., Nettie Deaver of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Bridie Cordle of Asheville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The Rev. James R. Staggs will officiate. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of First Church of the Nazarene, 385 Hazel Mill Road, Asheville 28806.
